The price is agreed before you travel, not after

We are a local driver service on the French Riviera and Cannes is where most of our work is. Every route into and out of the city has a fixed price per car, quoted before you book and unchanged afterwards. Motorway tolls, fuel, airport parking, luggage help and child seats are already in it, and there is no surcharge at night, at the weekend or on a public holiday.

Nothing is paid up front. You confirm the booking, the driver meets you, and you settle at the end in cash or by card. If the flight is late the first hour of waiting is free, because the driver follows your flight number rather than the time you wrote down.

Almost everyone arriving in Cannes lands at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, 20 km east along the A8. That is roughly 25 minutes when the road is clear, and 40 to 50 minutes on a Saturday in July or during the Film Festival. Private aviation uses Cannes Mandelieu (CEQ), ten minutes from the Croisette.

Where the driver meets you in Cannes

Cannes is easy to drive into and awkward to stop in, so the meeting point matters more here than in most towns. The usual ones:

• Nice Airport. The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign, in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 depending on your flight. If you are not sure which one you land at, our guide to the two terminals explains how to tell and how the free shuttle between them works.
• Hotels on the Croisette. The Carlton, Martinez, Majestic and the rest have a proper drop-off at the entrance. During festival weeks parts of the Croisette are closed to traffic and the forecourts are managed by security, so we agree an alternative point with you the day before.
• Le Suquet, the old town. The lanes above the port are narrow and one-way. The driver normally stops at Place du Suquet or at the bottom of Rue Saint-Antoine, a short walk from most of the apartments up there.
• Vieux Port and Port Canto. For a yacht arrival or departure the driver comes to the quay, next to the gangway, rather than to the port entrance.
• Gare de Cannes. Pick-up is on the Rue Jean Jaurès side, where cars can actually stop.
• Quai Laubeuf, for the ferry to the Îles de Lérins.

Going the other way the driver arrives five minutes early and helps with the bags. For a flight out of Nice we suggest leaving Cannes two and a half hours before departure in summer, two hours off season.

What the alternatives from Nice Airport cost

A metered taxi to Cannes is usually €80 to €100, more at night and on Sundays, and the rank can have a twenty-minute queue when several flights land together. The Zou! 210 express coach is cheap, but it runs a limited daytime schedule and leaves you at the Cannes bus station rather than at your door. The train is the cheapest at €6 to €10, except that the airport has no station of its own: you take the tram to Nice-Ville or Saint-Augustin first, which turns it into a 60 to 90 minute journey with suitcases. Booking around the Cannes calendar

Cannes runs on its events, and cars genuinely run out during the big weeks: MIPIM in March, the Film Festival in May, Cannes Lions in June, Les Plages Électroniques in August and the Yachting Festival in September. In those periods traffic along the Croisette is filtered or stopped altogether, hotel drop-off is controlled, and last-minute availability is poor at any price. Book a few days ahead and tell us the hotel or the venue, and we will plan an approach that still works while the roads are shut.

How long does the drive take?

About 25 minutes when the A8 is clear. In summer traffic or during the Film Festival allow 40 to 50 minutes. The driver tracks your flight, so a delay does not change the arrangement.

Is the price per person or per car?

Per car. Four passengers pay the same €75 as one, and luggage is included.

Do I have to pay in advance?

No. There is no prepayment and no card details are taken. You pay the driver at the end of the ride, in cash or by card.

Where does the driver wait at the airport?

In the arrivals hall of your terminal, with a sign showing your name. The first hour of waiting after landing is free.
